Privacy & data
Privacy Policy
ShotWeek is designed to keep the health-related records you enter on your device. This policy explains what is stored locally, what limited information is processed for subscriptions, and the choices available to you.
1. Scope and who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the ShotWeek iOS application, its subscription features, and the ShotWeek legal website that links to this policy (collectively, the “Services”). ShotWeek is provided by its independent developer (“ShotWeek,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, healthcare providers, pharmacies, or services that you choose to access from or in connection with ShotWeek. Their own privacy notices govern their practices.
2. Privacy summary
Private by default. Medication records, dose details, daily response entries, notes, weight entries, and reminder preferences that you enter in ShotWeek are stored locally on your device. ShotWeek does not operate an account system or a cloud database for those records.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your records for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- We do not currently include a third-party advertising or analytics SDK.
- Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat helps the app determine subscription and entitlement status.
- You control exports. Information leaves the app through an export or share action only when you initiate it.
3. Information involved in the Services
Information you choose to enter
Depending on how you use the app, you may enter or select:
- the name or label of a medication, peptide, supplement, or other compound;
- dose amount, unit, date, time, cadence, dose phase, source, and injection site;
- daily response ratings such as appetite, nausea, energy, digestion, sleep, headache, or overall feeling;
- free-text notes associated with a dose or response entry;
- weight measurements, measurement units, dates, and related notes;
- reminder preferences, including whether reminders are enabled and selected times; and
- onboarding selections such as tracking goal, whether a dose has already started, and which response signals you want to monitor.
ShotWeek does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email address, phone number, postal address, or payment card number to use the local tracking features.
Information generated by the app
The app creates technical identifiers and relationships needed to group dose records and daily response entries, calculate day indexes, show history, enforce a limited free starter allowance, and display patterns based on the records stored on your device.
Support communications
If you email us, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use that information to respond, troubleshoot, protect the Services, and keep a reasonable support record.
4. Local device storage
ShotWeek stores the records and settings described above in app storage on your iPhone, including Apple-provided local preferences storage. The app also uses the iOS Keychain to remember whether the one-time free starter dose or response allowance has been used. Keychain values may remain on a device after the app is deleted and later reinstalled, depending on iOS behavior.
Because the core records are stored locally, we generally cannot view, retrieve, restore, or remotely delete them. Your device passcode, Apple Account security, backups, operating-system protections, and anyone with access to your unlocked device can affect the confidentiality of local records.
Apple may include application data in an iCloud or computer backup depending on your device and backup settings. Apple, not ShotWeek, controls those backup services. Review your iPhone backup settings if you do not want local app data included in a device backup.
5. Notifications and reminders
If you enable reminders, ShotWeek asks iOS for notification permission and schedules local notifications on your device. Notification settings and scheduled reminder times are used to deliver the reminders you request. You can deny permission, change reminder settings in the app, or disable ShotWeek notifications in iOS Settings.
Notifications can appear on a locked screen depending on your iOS settings. Consider choosing a notification preview setting that matches your privacy needs. Reminders are a convenience only and may be delayed, suppressed, or not delivered because of device settings, Focus modes, operating-system behavior, power state, or other circumstances.
6. Purchases, subscriptions, Apple, and RevenueCat
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes payment credentials, billing, taxes, refunds, family-sharing eligibility, and the Apple Account associated with the transaction. ShotWeek does not receive your full payment card number.
ShotWeek uses RevenueCat to retrieve available subscription offerings, initiate purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether premium features should be unlocked. When RevenueCat is configured without an account you create, its software generates an anonymous app user identifier. RevenueCat may process information such as:
- the anonymous RevenueCat app user identifier;
- the app, platform, app version, operating system, and relevant device or network metadata;
- product identifiers, purchase and renewal events, entitlement status, expiration date, and trial or introductory-offer status; and
- diagnostic information needed to provide and secure its subscription infrastructure.
RevenueCat does not receive the medication, dose, response, weight, or note content stored in ShotWeek merely because the subscription SDK is used. RevenueCat processes subscription data under its own Privacy Policy. Apple’s processing is governed by Apple’s applicable privacy and media-services terms.
7. How information is used
Information is used only as reasonably necessary to:
- save, display, organize, edit, and export the records you create;
- associate daily responses with the dose record that started the relevant tracking period;
- calculate countdowns, schedules, adherence views, trends, comparisons, and summaries from your local entries;
- schedule local reminders you request;
- provide, restore, validate, and secure subscription access;
- enforce limited free usage and prevent repeated circumvention of the starter allowance;
- respond to support messages, diagnose problems, and protect the Services; and
- comply with law, enforce our terms, or protect users, ShotWeek, Apple, RevenueCat, or others.
9. Health-related and sensitive information
The entries you create may reveal health, medication, body-weight, or wellness information and should be treated as sensitive. ShotWeek is a personal organization and tracking tool; it is not a healthcare provider, health plan, pharmacy, medical device, or medical-record system. ShotWeek is not represented as a “covered entity” or “business associate” under the U.S. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Do not use ShotWeek as the only copy of information you may need for treatment or emergency care. Do not enter another person’s information unless you are authorized to do so and understand the privacy consequences.
10. Retention, correction, and deletion
Local records
Local records remain on your device until you edit or delete them through available app controls, erase the app’s data, or delete the app. Deleting the app normally removes its local app container, but iOS backups and Keychain values may be retained separately under Apple-controlled behavior and settings.
Subscription records
Apple and RevenueCat retain transaction and subscription information according to their legal obligations and retention policies. If you contact us about RevenueCat data, include the anonymous app user identifier shown in any available diagnostic or support screen so we can determine whether a record can be located. We may ask for reasonable verification before acting on a request.
Support emails
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, maintain business records, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations, after which they may be deleted or de-identified.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the Services, including relying on iOS app sandboxing, Apple’s platform protections, local storage, and encrypted transport used by subscription providers. No device, software, storage method, or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
You are responsible for maintaining a secure device passcode, protecting your Apple Account, installing security updates, controlling notification previews, and reviewing what you export or share.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection regarding personal information we control, and to appeal certain decisions. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights may be limited by law and by the fact that we cannot identify or access records stored only on your device.
- Local records: use available app controls or delete the app to manage data on your device.
- Notifications: change reminder settings in ShotWeek or notification permission in iOS Settings.
- Subscriptions: manage or cancel through Apple subscription settings.
- Support or privacy requests: email matt1232026@gmail.com.
For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, processing may rely on performance of our agreement (providing app and subscription features), consent (optional notifications), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, support, and improving reliability), and compliance with legal obligations. You may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
For residents of California and other U.S. states with applicable privacy laws: we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics for advertising. Because we do not engage in those activities, we do not provide a “Do Not Sell or Share” link. We do not discriminate for exercising applicable privacy rights.
13. Age requirements and children
ShotWeek is intended for adults age 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent information to us through support communications, contact us so we can evaluate and address the request.
14. International processing
Core tracking records remain on your device. Subscription and support information may be processed in countries other than the country where you live, including the United States, by Apple, RevenueCat, email providers, or infrastructure they use. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Relevant providers use their own legal transfer mechanisms and safeguards.
15. This legal website
This static legal website does not intentionally set cookies, use advertising pixels, collect form submissions, or include an analytics script. GitHub hosts the pages and may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser details, and request logs to provide and secure GitHub Pages. GitHub’s privacy notice governs that hosting activity.
Browser “Do Not Track” and Global Privacy Control signals do not change this site’s behavior because the site does not conduct targeted advertising, sell personal information, or include cross-site tracking code.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app, law, or service providers change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how information is handled, we may provide additional notice in the app or through another appropriate channel. Continued use after the effective date means the revised policy applies to future use, subject to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
