1. In brief
- WakeFirst does not ask you to create an account. Alarm plans, selected app tokens, reference-image features, step counts, and morning history are stored and used on your device.
- Your chosen reference photo is processed on-device with Apple Vision. WakeFirst does not send the photo or its image feature print to a WakeFirst server.
- Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat receives limited purchase and entitlement information so WakeFirst can show plans and verify Premium access; the RevenueCat SDK creates an anonymous app user ID.
- WakeFirst does not sell personal information, use it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or include an advertising or general-purpose analytics SDK.
2. Who is responsible
“WakeFirst,” “we,” and “us” refer to the developer that publishes the WakeFirst iOS app on the Apple App Store. The seller/developer shown on the WakeFirst App Store product page is the publishing operator and, where privacy law applies, the controller of the processing described in this Policy. Contact our privacy team at matt1232026@gmail.com.
This Policy applies to the WakeFirst iOS app and to these public legal pages. It does not cover Apple, RevenueCat, GitHub, or other third parties when they act as independent controllers for their own services. Their notices explain their own processing.
3. Information and sources
WakeFirst is designed to process most routine information locally. We do not receive information stored only on your device. Information that may be processed by us or our service providers is limited to the following:
- Purchase and entitlement information: product identifier, store, transaction or receipt-related data, subscription status, purchase and renewal events, and the anonymous RevenueCat App User ID used to associate an entitlement with this installation.
- Technical request information: app and operating-system version, device/platform type, locale or storefront, and network metadata (including IP address) needed to make a request to Apple, RevenueCat, or the legal-page host and protect those services.
- Support messages: if you contact us, the email address, message, and any details or attachments you choose to provide so we can respond and resolve the issue.
- Legal-page visit data: when you open these static legal pages, GitHub Pages may process standard request and security logs, such as IP address, browser/device information, requested page, and time of access.
Apple receives information needed to provide App Store transactions and system services under Apple’s own terms. WakeFirst does not receive your payment-card number.
4. Information that stays on your device
WakeFirst stores the following in its iOS app container or shared app group so the app and its Apple system extensions can perform the routine you configure:
- plan names, wake times, repeat days, mission settings, durations, and local session/history records;
- opaque Family Controls tokens for apps you select, used to apply the app-blocking schedule through Apple’s system frameworks;
- your selected reference photo and a Vision feature-print representation used to compare the object during a Scan Mission;
- step counts read locally from Core Motion while you complete a Walk Mission; and
- cached subscription status used to show Premium features.
WakeFirst does not upload your reference photo, image feature print, selected app tokens, step count, alarm plan, or local history to its own server. Apple operating-system services may process information under Apple’s control when you grant the related permission. iOS may include app data in device backups according to your Apple Account and device backup settings; Apple controls those backups.
You can change or delete plans in the app. Deleting WakeFirst removes its local data from that installation, subject to any device backup you have enabled. It does not cancel an App Store subscription or delete Apple’s or RevenueCat’s purchase records.
5. Purchases and RevenueCat
WakeFirst uses Apple’s App Store for billing and RevenueCat’s SDK to load available plans, validate purchases, restore purchases, and determine whether the Premium entitlement is active. Because WakeFirst does not create an account or provide a custom user ID, RevenueCat generates an anonymous App User ID for the app installation.
For these functions, RevenueCat may process the anonymous App User ID, product and entitlement identifiers, transaction or receipt-related data, purchase status and event timestamps, app/platform and OS version, locale/storefront information, and connection metadata such as IP address. RevenueCat’s SDK and its privacy documentation explain the technical data it processes. RevenueCat states that it acts as a processor for end-user information and stores customer data on AWS in the United States; its terms and data-processing terms govern its handling for WakeFirst. Apple processes the payment method, billing, taxes, refunds, and the App Store transaction.
WakeFirst does not send your name, email address, or advertising identifier to RevenueCat from the app code inspected for this Policy. We do not use RevenueCat data for targeted advertising or to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
6. Purposes and legal bases
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we process information on these bases, as applicable:
- Provide the Service and Premium access: to perform our agreement with you, including purchase verification and restore functionality.
- Respond to support requests: to perform the agreement or, where appropriate, pursue our legitimate interest in helping users and maintaining the Service.
- Protect the app, purchase flow, and legal pages: for our legitimate interests in preventing fraud, securing services, and diagnosing service interruptions, balanced against your rights.
- Meet legal obligations: where we must retain or disclose information under applicable law.
- Device permissions: camera/photo, motion, alarms, and Family Controls are accessed on-device when you choose to use the feature and grant the operating-system permission. You can revoke permissions in iOS Settings.
Where a law requires consent for optional processing, we will ask for consent before that processing and you may withdraw it. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already occurred lawfully.
8. Sale, advertising, and tracking
WakeFirst does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not serve targeted ads in the app, do not use an advertising SDK, and do not request permission to access Apple’s advertising identifier. We do not use purchase information to profile you for decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
If this practice changes, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required notice and choice before the change applies. You may still contact us to ask about the information held by our service providers.
9. Retention and deletion
- On-device routine data: remains on the device until you delete or change it, remove the app, or remove the app’s data; Apple backups may persist according to your backup settings.
- Purchase and entitlement records: retained by Apple and RevenueCat for purchase verification, restoration, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal obligations, according to their retention rules. We request deletion from a service provider when applicable law gives you that right and the record is no longer needed for a permitted purpose.
- Support messages: retained as needed to answer you, maintain a support record, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.
- Legal-page logs: retained by the host according to its security and retention practices.
We do not have a cloud account containing your alarm plan or morning history. If you request access or deletion, we can only retrieve information held by us or our service providers; we cannot remotely read or delete information stored only on your device.
10. Your privacy rights
EEA, United Kingdom, and similar laws
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access to, correction or deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal data; request a portable copy; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection supervisory authority. These rights have legal conditions and exceptions. To make a request, email matt1232026@gmail.com with “Privacy request” in the subject. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify the request, and we will respond within the period required by law.
United States and California
Depending on your state and whether its law applies to WakeFirst, you may have rights to know/access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain profiling. California residents may also have rights to limit certain uses of sensitive personal information and to be free from discrimination for exercising privacy rights. WakeFirst does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Send requests to matt1232026@gmail.com. We may verify a request and may deny or limit it where law permits. An authorized agent may submit a request where applicable law allows, subject to verification.
We do not require you to create a WakeFirst account to submit a privacy request. If we cannot associate a request with records we hold, we will explain what we can and cannot locate. App Store purchases may also be managed through Apple Account settings.
11. Children
WakeFirst is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the app or these legal pages. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact matt1232026@gmail.com. We will review the request and take steps required by law. A parent or guardian should supervise use by a minor and control any purchase made through an Apple Account.
12. International transfers
Apple, RevenueCat, GitHub, and email providers may process information in countries different from the country where you live. RevenueCat states that customer data it stores is held on AWS in the United States. Where applicable law requires a transfer mechanism, the relevant provider and the Developer will rely on an available adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as approved standard contractual clauses and any required supplementary measures. You may contact us to ask for more information about applicable safeguards.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the limited information we process. Device-stored routine information is protected by the security controls of iOS and the device. Requests to Apple, RevenueCat, and the legal-page host use their services and security controls. No internet transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. Automated decisions
WakeFirst does not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. The app may automatically compare an image feature print on your device or update a subscription entitlement; those results only operate the feature you requested.
15. Third-party services and legal pages
Apple, RevenueCat, and GitHub are separate service providers or controllers for their respective services. Their privacy terms are available at Apple Privacy, RevenueCat Privacy, and GitHub Privacy. These legal pages do not use WakeFirst advertising cookies or custom analytics. The host may use technical logs or essential technologies to deliver and protect the pages.
Third-party websites and services are governed by their own notices. Review those notices before providing information directly to them.
16. Policy changes
We may update this Policy when the app, our service providers, or applicable law changes. We will revise the date above and provide prominent notice for material changes. If law requires your consent for a new use, we will obtain it before that use begins.
